Once you’ve stepped over the line of faith to become a Christ follower, Jesus said the next step is baptism.
Baptism symbolizes three things:
It is a public statement a person makes showing they have chosen to step over the line and become a follower of Jesus Christ.
Second, as a person is lowered into and then raised out of the water, it symbolizes Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection.
It also symbolizes that when a person becomes a follower of Jesus, their old life is behind them and a new life in Jesus Christ has begun.
It is the most beautiful tradition we practice at Brazos Pointe.
